Type of translations
1. Sworn (certified) translations are translations prepared by a licensed professional and registered at the Ministry of Justice of the Slovak Republic. This type of translations cannot be prepared by a translator not registered and licensed in the Slovak Republic nor they can be prepared by a Slovak speaker with a notary verification.
For certified translations to be accepted in the European Union countries, hard copy of your document must have an apostille (paper verification attached to your original document issued by a government body). You may request an apostille from the appropriate state or national institutions or embassies. For example, for an FBI background check or US Naturalization/Citizenship Certificate, you need to contact the U.S. Department of State, for a Vital Statistics document, you may contact the appropriate Secretary of State Office; for a Court document, you may contact the issuing court, or for an English document issued outside of the US, you may contact a specific Consulate or Embassy, etc. Apostilles do not have an expiration date. Beware that FBI background checks expire within 3 months.
You can also use private apostille services for faster processing such as by Frances Kaplan at frances@successignings.com.
Once you have an apostille, you may send us your documents for a price quote (See instructions below.)
2. Uncertified translations (digital copy) are translations of documents that do not need apostilles.
3. Slovak citizenship requirements: Quick Guide.

Translation Process
1. Fill out "Request for Translation Form" below.
Uploading documents is mandatory. Alternatively, you can also submit a link to a Cloud service that you use with granting us access to your documents such as iCloud, OneDrive, Google Drive, etc. => get a price quote and timeline for translations.
Please note that if your documents are handwritten and/or illegible, you will need to provide their typed transcription, and also Slovak spelling of the last names if you want to have them properly recorded. For example, English spelling of "Ludmila Masarova" is equivalent to Slovak spelling "Ľudmila Masárová."
In case you forget to upload all documents at once, make another request and note that you are adding this document to your initial request from the date of....................... .
For reviewing citizenship applications, please provide editable Word or PDF versions. You can attach them to the message string in communication with us after receiving a reply from us after your request submission.
You will be contacted within 2 business days after your submission. Please do not email to confirm receipt of your documents. This information is available in the tracker on the top of the website. If you do not receive a price quote from us within 2 business days, check your junk or spam folder first and then resubmit the request with subject line "2nd Price Quote Request" to avoid time loss in processing your translation.
You must mail official hard copies of your documents with apostilles for certified translations to us for registration, stamping and binding. Beware that if your official documents are missing apostilles, they will not be accepted by the Slovak government agencies. The final price may slightly vary depending on the final page count at completion of your translation. May that happen, we will inform you.
Payment is made after confirming your translation order. See payment methods below (6).
2. Get a tracking number from your local US Postal Service for both outgoing mail to us and return mail back to you. Once you have both tracking numbers and are ready to mail us your documents, please update tracking #s and payment information into the Tracking box below. You can check the delivery of your physical documents and the estimated date of translation completion in the tracker on the top of the website.
3. Send your documents for certified translations with a cover page of your documents and a list of correct Slovak spelling of all names on specific documents to Dr. Lucia Kajima with a return envelope with postage and a check, if you did not pay electronically. When mailing the documents, please do not request signature upon delivery as your mail may be returned. If no postage is included with enclosed return envelope, your translation order will be delayed up to a week.
4. Translation will be first sent to you electronically for approval, and then physically by the estimated delivery date. You can also arrange a pick-up or a drop-off of your documents on Tuesdays in San Francisco.
